Don’t let a little thing like the Columbia River get in the way of your Estate Plan.

Before I was an attorney, I worked in restaurants, and one thing that I learned from food service is that your customers will tell you what they want if you listen to them. Time after time, the restaurateurs who were responsive to their clientele stayed in business and the owners who did not listen, failed. Having internalized this lesson, I have sought to make my practice one that focuses on the needs of the client and reaches out to meet them where they are. However, there is an imaginary line running down the middle of the Columbia River that restricts my ability to serve my client’s needs.

I am licensed in Oregon and in Texas, but I am not yet licensed in Washington State (though I have begun the application process). This presents a problem for my clients who own property on both sides of the river because while a trust created in Oregon is still valid in Washington, I am currently unable to advise people as to Washington law, which can be frustrating for clients who live and work in both states. My clients are busy enough as it is, they don’t want to have to meet with and pay for two separate attorneys! To better serve our clients, Good Advice Law is proud to announce that we are bringing on Washington State Licensed Attorney Matthew “Mat”Cleary as Of Counsel and we are now accepting Washington State cases for Estate Planning and Small Business entity formation, management, tax, and succession planning.

Mat has a long history of working in highly regulated industries and helping businesses cut through red tape to achieve their desired outcome. Just like navigating the Columbia River Bar, where waters meet can be turbulent and dangerous and it can be hard to know which side you’re even on. It is good to have somebody who can help you through the rough patch and then continue all the way to the other side with you. If you  operate a business on both sides of the Columbia River or if you have property or assets in both Oregon and Washington, Good Advice Law is here to help make life a little more simple for you. Call Good Advice Law Today.
